if approved by a health practitioner, pregnant women may use Clary Sage with extreme caution. Clary Sage, along with Rose and Jasmine are emmengagogue oils which can cause uterine contractions that may be dangerous in the early stages of pregnancy. Clary Sage is a wonderful oil to use when in labour for pain relief and to help strengthen uterine contractions.
For this reason, Clary Sage is often recommended by midwives during birth.
